WordPress 2.8 Is Out

WordPress 2.8 is now out for stable download. Go to Wordpress Download page to download the latest WordPress, if you haven’t just yet.

According to WordPress development team, WordPress 2.8 fixes over 790 bugs that are uncovered in the previous version.

Wordpress 2.7.1 is now out. If you have upgraded to Wordpress 2.7 previously, you can now automatically upgrade to 2.7.1. Full list of changes between 2.7 and 2.7.1.

In just less than two weeks, after Wordpress 2.6.5 was released, Wordpress 2.7 is now released.

Wordpress 2.7 is available for download now.

The main feature of Wordpress 2.7 is the availability of one-click installation instead of having to go through all the trouble. But in order for that to happen, you have to sign up with one of the web hosting partners that support one-click installation. One of the web hosting companies is Bluehost with web hosting starting from $6.95/month.

Wordpress 2.6.5 Is Out

Wordpress 2.6.5 is available for download and the people at Wordpress strongly recommends everyone upgrade to this release.

The main security issue is an XSS exploit discovered by Jeremias Reith that fortunately only affects IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. There are three other small fixes which are not important.

Matt Mullenweg announced that Wordpress 2.6 is now available, like almost a month ahead schedule. Version 2.6 makes WordPress a more powerful CMS, you can now track changes to every post and page and easily post from wherever you are on the web.

Wordpress 2.3.3 Is Out

Just slightly a month after releasing WordPress 2.3.2, Wordpress has just release Wordpress 2.3.3 about 8 hours ago, which is somewhat an urgent security release.

It was quoted by Wordpress that:

WordPress 2.3.3 is an urgent security release. A flaw was found in our XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow any valid user to edit posts of any other user on that blog. In addition to fixing this security flaw, 2.3.3 fixes a few minor bugs.
